Handling The Ill Effects Of Jet Lag On A Private Charter

Posted By Free Journalism under General, Home And Family, Recreation And Sports, Travel And Leisure.

A long flight, whether commercial or with a private jet charter, is going to produce the effects of jet lag if one isn’t careful. You don’t have to put your mind or body through it, however, as there are methods to combat the effects. Little effort or money is required to protect yourself from jet lag.

If jet lag is characterized by stress, being tired, and feeling achy- then a little exercise before your flight will do you a lot of good! Look for an exercise that isn’t too tiring, but gets your blood flowing. The increase in circulation will ensure that your key vitals won’t falter when you are in a certain position for an extended period of time. Also look to stretch and meditate while in flight.

A private jet charter is the best choice when choosing a flight. A private jet charter will allow you room to enjoy your surroundings- unlike a commercial airliner where your immediate surroundings are occupied with other strangers. Not only will you have more room, but you can do more with your time- such as watch a movie, read a book in peace, or carry on a conversation.

Flying a long distance means you will inevitably change time zones. While this doesn’t sound menacing at first, just wait until you try to adjust to the new sleep cycle! Experts recommend that taking a small nap during the day is a good idea, but certainly don’t nap too long- this will only prolong fixing your sleep cycle. Over the next two or three days, expect your sleep schedule to be out of place.

The human body needs a constant supply of water to operate. This shouldn’t change while in the air- keep a good amount of water near for consumption. Although a private jet allows you more options, such as consuming alcohol, you should not take yourself up on this freedom if you experience bad jet lag. Alcohol is known to cause jet lag even on small flights where it shouldn’t have been a problem.

If you find that you are having problems adjusting to sleep or nullifying jet lag, there are medications that you can obtain. Over the counter drugs can help aid your sleep and relaxation, while prescription drugs can do more- although they are probably not necessary. If you can, try to take on the flight without medication.

Final Thoughts

Having your own private jet is a real treat. Your odds at getting jet lag are much smaller due to the comfort and the greater relaxation. Take full effect of your surroundings in your private jet- and just be glad you aren’t flying commercial!
