Some tax credits will even be applied to hybrids, which give the best of both worlds. The tax credit does help, but with the current models at $100,000 and more, the electric vehicles are still out of reach for most families.

The range of an electric vehicle is a major pitfall. An electric vehicle might only have a range of a hundred miles, depending on where you live. Some areas are starting to implement electric refueling stations for electric cars, but this is only in select United States cities. Most areas will require that you charge the vehicle at home- greatly limiting its capacity to travel great distances. It’s a major flaw that only drastic change will be able to change in the future.
